Product Details

Long lasting High Speed Steel (HSS) burs are precision cut in the United States using modern equipment operated by highly trained professionals. Available individually or in sets.

Otto Frei sells the Spearhead brand of HSS burs exclusively. Spearhead HSS burs are easily identifiable by having their sizes imprinted on the shank and the angle of the flutes, which are slanted in the case of these setting burs. Spearhead burs have uniform consistent geometries for making clean precise cuts. Professionals stonesetters choose HSS burs as they are much longer lasting than the Tungsten Vanadium Steel German and Swiss made burs making HSS burs more economical to use in the long run.

The best but not perfect.

These burrs are excellent. With careful use not to touch a diamond and good lubrication, I have gotten decades of use out of these. Some have cut thousands of seats and still keep cutting. Since they are hand cut , some are not as good as others in the same set but overall they are well worth the investment.
