This kit contains one PVC reducing coupling and two flexible self adhesive insulating/weatherstripping lengths. Use it for connecting the 1-1/2" diameter hose that comes with the Quatro Gold Vault or Quatro Jet Stream (or any other system with 1-1/2" hose) to any inlet, outlet or hose with a 3" diameter.*
For connecting the 1-1/2 diameter flexible hose that comes with the Quatro Gold Vault or Quatro Jet Stream, apply the thin weatherstripping, sticky side down, on the inside of the small diameter on the PVC reducing coupling. The Quatro 1-1/2" diameter flexible hose will now connect firmly when you gently screw the hose into the coupling. If you pull the hose on or off a lot you may need to replace the weatherstripping at some point.
The thicker piece of weatherstripping is used on the outside of the larger diameter of the PVC reducing coupling when attaching to most, but not all types, of flexible 3" diameter hose.
The connection is secured using 3' diameter hose clamps, which are not supplied with this kit. The above solution works with the flexible dryer hose like the type used in the Quatro 147.631E kit but it does not work with the hard 3" flexible hose used with larger Quatro Velocity systems.
You can connect directly to 3" hard outlets on equipment without the use of the weatherstripping. Some duck tape may be necessary to make the final connection secure.
Because of the varieties of systems you can possibly connect too, your connection situation may require the use of different thicknesses of one side sticky weatherstripping and the use of hose clamps and duck tape. A trip to the hardware store may be necessary to procure the necessary materials.
