Oval Kyanite Cabachon

Kyanite is named from the Greek word kyanos which means "dark blue." Kyanite often resembles sapphire and is used as an alternative, particularly in beads and cabochons. Kyanite generally ranges from blue to green, with traces of chromium and iron responsible for the color. This gem is unique due to possessing different gemstone hardness in different crystal directions . Clean with warm, soapy water. Avoid use of ultrasonic and steam cleaner.
