The ImpGen 3-1/2" Meco Midget Cooler Head Tube Adapter replaces the simple brass head tube on the popular Meco Midget torch and changes dramatically what can be done at the bench with your Meco Midget.
The ImpGen Cooler Head Tube Adpater will stop the heat from traveling back into the Meco Midget body. You get a much more comfortable user experience.
The ImpGen Cooler Head Tube Adapter is engineered to be much more robust than the simple brass tube it replaces. The ImpGen Cooler Head Tube is made from twin tubes of special 304 stainless steel. Torch to tip sealing on the brass tip can be done face to face as well as the nose radius to inside seat angle method, as close inspection of the brass tip reveals the superior engineering in this critical safety issue. The brass tip also has cooling fins that gives additional heat protection. Heat doesn't make its way down the head tube towards your hand, allowing for longer and cooler torch sessions. The copper ferrule on the torch end of the adapter is another safety feature, providing cushioning for a better seal at another critical junction.
The ImpGen Cooler Head Tube Adapter is more expensive than other adapters on the market for sure, but the expense is nominal when considering the exceptional engineering and quality that goes into this product.
Assembly to your Meco Midget is easy. Simply unscrew the Meco Midget head tube from the body and replace it with the on the ImpGen Cooler Head Tube for the Meco Midget. The manufacturer recommends you use a suitable wrench and give it a firm final turn. Torch tips can then be screwed onto the brass tip just beyond hand tight by using the same wrench. As with any torch, always check for leaks before use.
Once installed, you can use the same Oxy/Fuel mix that you have already been using with your Meco Midget, either Oxy/Propane, Oxy/Natural Gas or Oxy/Acetylene.
The Meco N type single hole tips work with all of these gas combinations. The Meco OX Multi-Port tips are only for Oxy/Propane or Oxy/Natural Gas.
