What Happen to the Meco Midget Torch?
The Meco Midget torch was manufactured by the Modern Engineering Company (MECO) in the United States. The quality and price of MECO products was exceptional. Meco was purchased by the Victor Torch Company which ceased production of most MECO branded products. It was rumored that company was purchased in order to remove a key competitor of superior products from the industry. The Meco Midget Torch managed to survive due to demands from the jewelry and aviation restoration industries. The production moved to Mexico. Prices have increased dramatically and now there are superior products that are less expensive.
