Swiss made Glardon-Vallorbe Warding Escapement files have square handles. Escapement file lengths are measured from tip to the end of the cut and do not include the tang. Escapement files are also called Watchmakers files.

Warding files are parallel in thickness, tapered in width and thin.

• Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Escapement Files are measured from the point where the teeth begin to when the cut stops.  The tang or handles are not included in this measurement.
• Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Escapement Files are graded with a number from 0 for coarsest to 8 for finest. Remember, the higher the number the finer the cut.
