Glardon-Vallorbe Crossing Escapement Files - LE3009

Swiss made Glardon-Vallorbe Crossing Escapement files have square handles. Escapement file lengths are measured from tip to the end of the cut and measurements do not include the tang. Escapement files are also called Watchmakers files.

Crossing files are half round on two sides with one side having a larger radius than the other.  Tapered in width and thickness.  Cut and usable to the point.  Used primarily for filing interior curved surfaces. The double radius makes possible the filing at the junction of two curved surfaces.

Measurements given are at the thickest point.

Things you should know about ordering Escapment files:

• Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Escapement Files are measured from the point where the teeth begin to when the cut stops.  The tang or handles are not included in this measurement.
• Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Crossing Escapement Files are graded with a number from 2 for coarsest to 10 for finest. Remember, the higher the number the finer the cut.
