Best For Jobs Requiring Extra Torque at Low Speed up to 5,000 RPM
Complete your flex shaft setup by adding a speed control device.
The Foredom M.LX Motor requires the use of a speed control-never plug a Foredom M.LX motor directly into a outlet! See all Speed Control Options and select one that is LX series compatible.
The Foredom M.LX Series is a special High-Torque, Low Speed flex shaft motor built for the jewelry stone setter. It is a 1/10 HP, maximum RPM 5000, permanent magnet ball bearing motor. It is the successor to the no longer in production EE series ,R series & original L series units that were developed for the professional jewelry stone setter. Stone setters work at low speeds, and need high-torque motors that won't bog down under load.
The M.LX series is also excellent for using hammer handpieces, like the Badeco Swiss Made or The Foredom 15-15D, as hammer handpieces are meant to be used at lower speeds.
Foredom M.LX series motors come with standard length "key tip" shafts and more flexible neoprene sheaths for connecting to any of the quick disconnect handpieces made by Foredom or other brands like Badeco, Faro or Swiss Made Technique.
*The Foredom M.LX series use different speed controls than the Foredom M.SR. The Foredom LX-LXH series, like the Foredom TX-TXH series, are permanent magnet ball bearing motors that run on DC current. You cannot modify or adapt a SR series control to work on a LX or TX series motor. These controls may look the same as the standard models, however they have special electronics that convert AC current from an electrical outlet to DC current, the type required by the TX-TXH, LX-LXH motors. The TXR, SXR and EMX controls for the TX-TXH, LX -LXH motors also have different style plugs that are made to fit the TX-TXH, LX-LXH shielded plug.
Handpieces, Special Foot Controls (TXR or SXR) or Table-Top Dial Control (EMX)
are sold separately.
