Fine Cut (Light Green) 1/4" Plastic Pyramids-Sold by the Pound (Formerly White)

Our plastic bonded abrasive media is an excellent choice for providing a uniform finish on medium hard or soft metal. Use these medias with a small amount of water and an appropriate detergent compound. Start with the coarse cut (brown) pyramids and then proceed to the medium cut (dark green) pyramids and end with the fine cut (light green*) pyramids. You can now proceed to burnishing with steel shot or go straight to final polishing with a dry media.

*Formerly white-dye lots change, but these pyramids are the same cut that they have always been.

Plastic Media, usually has a polyester base and is generally used for softer metals such as aluminum, brass and zinc workpieces. It will produce a very smooth finish, but very little shine. Plastic Media is excellent when preparing the workpiece for anodizing. Plastic media does NOT discolor metals and does NOT peen over burrs. It is generally 30% lighter than ceramic media. Use for general metal removal, pre-paint or pre-plate finishing polishing.
