This newest version of Durston's 6″ guillotine shear, new to Otto Frei stock as of April 2022, has been hugely upgraded when compared to the previous model and any other guillotine of its kind.
New Features:
Improved larger design table and guide Users can now cut even wider material than before, even at 45°, thanks to the new design of the table and guide which allows wider sheet metal to be fed through the guillotine without being obstructed by the main body of the tool. This has been a massive design flaw with other designs on the market.
Improved backstop with smooth bearing guides that can be tightened by hand for quick lock and release. No movement, gives precise repeat cuts as many times as you need.
Improved handle action using a patent pending rack and pinion square drive system. This system ensures maximum torque is transferred right from the handle through to the blade. This greatly improves feel and accuracy while eliminating wear issues that other models that use a round shaft connection may have. Now all the power is transferred directly to the blade. This system results in maximum torque, giving a smoother cut with less force.
Will cut up to 160mm (6-1/4") wide by 1.5mm thick non-ferrous metal and 0.75 mm mild steel. Precision ground, hardened and tempered blade.

Durston Has The Solution.
This model is ideal for cutting a wide variety of non-ferrous sheet metal typically used in the jewelry industry including copper, brass, silvers and gold up to 6-1/4" (160 mm) wide. The adjustable built in mitre gauge and ruler allow you to make precise straight and angled cuts. It can cut angles up to 60º in 5º increments. The stainless steel table supports the metal as it is fed into the cutting area, helping to ensure even and clean cuts every time.
The shear is operated with a handle that controls a precision ground, hardened and tempered cutting blade. The blade has 4 cutting edges, so it can be rotated if ever damaged or worn to give an extremely long service life. The blades will cut non-ferrous metals up to 1.5mm thick as well as mild steel up to 0.75 mm thick.
The shear can be mounted to your workbench or any work table (mounting hardware not included). It is strong and durable, as you would expect from a Durston product produced in the UK.
