Product Details

Tanzanite is found only in one location in Eastern Africa in the entire world, Tanzania. Discovered in 1962, Tanzanite is a relative newcomer on the gemstone market, yet has grown incredibly popular.   This gem is strongly pleochroic, displaying different colors from different directions. Pure blue or violetish blue hues are prized over bluish purple hues. Tanzanite should be handled with care as it is sensitive to temperature changes. Tanzanite is the birthstone of December.

  • Treatment: Heat treated
  • Eye clean, blue to violetish-blue color range
  • Clean with warm, soapy water. NEVER use ultrasonic or steam cleaner
